Several years ago when I was an active player on Three Rings’ Puzzle Pirates, they ran a series of contests inviting players to invent puzzle games for their crafting tasks.
My team, Project Gilthead, entered the abortive third round with me as the visual designer, my partner Chien as the programmer, and our friend Perlandria as the Puzzle Pirates expert. We all worked on the game design, and documented it thoroughly. This particular screen shot shows examples of most of the graphic elements I created for the game – there are more examples and explanations of our design principles in the project documentation.
Our prototype is still available to play, if your browser can handle the correct version of Java.
